Ivory Oriental
Hello. Is there a way to tell the difference between an old ivory piece opposed to bone or horn?
The little oriental man holding what looks like a scroll and walking stick has a bottom which makes it easy to see what the material used looks like but I need a bit of info on what to look for.
I was intrigued, so I did a little searching. I thought there wouldn't be an answer - isn't ivory made from tusks, which is horn? But it turns out that you can tell the difference between ivory and some other "ivory-like" substances. Here's a page that has photos to tell if the piece is ivory, plastic, or bone:

You don't have to put your bedroom through a complete overhaul to change its look and feel. Sometimes new bedding or a new accent piece is all you need to achieve the desired effect. Here are a few ways to make your bedroom more romantic without spending tons of cash.

Let your bed take center stage by mixing and matching floral or pink hued toss pillows trimmed with lace.
An easy way to add color and dress up a bare accent table is to add an assortment of wild flowers. It's traditional, simple, and won't break the bank.
Cozy up with your loved one next to a warm fire. Fireplaces in the bedroom contribute to a luxurious and romantic setting.
Accent furniture in white or ivory lends an air of romance to the bedroom especially when paired with splashes of pastel décor.
Room dividers or decorative silk screens can add color or serve as a focal point to a bland room. They also result in a very French, very romantic feel.
Sticking with the soft and delicate theme, use sheer wispy curtains in a light color as opposed to drab heavy ones. It may not be a total show stopper, but burlap sacks covering your windows doesn't exactly set the mood.
