What Can I Feed My Black Persian Cat???He Wont Eat Nothing But Tuna Or A Seafood Cereal Mix?
Ive tried all types of canned food most of them make him sick. i want him to like all types of other food i gave him some turkey but he didnt like it. i gave him a hot dog he dint like it....what can i do to make him eat more varieties of food or meat.
I feed a dry mix of Wellness Core and Natural Balance Limited Ingredient formula. Avoid things like wheat, corn, and rice, as your cat cant digest them. I free feed dry all day (about 1/4 of a cup per day), and I feed wet once in the morning and once at night.
As for the getting sick off of the wet food... I had the exact same problem when I first brought home my Phoenix. Cut down on the portion that you give him. My cat scarfs down the wet food really quickly and that might be the issue with your too.
I go with a variety of high quality wet foods, and my cat loves them. I like the Natural Balance, Wellness, Whiskas pouches, and the Fancy Feast anytizers. I have yet to meet a picky cat that wont eat the last two on the list! I feed her fish based cat foods sparingly, and I mainly go for chicken, turkey, duck, venison, or rabbit based foods.
I only feed about 1/4 of a pouch per meal for her. Regular size cat food cans, i give her 1/4 of a can. The small Natural Balance cans, she gets half a can. Play around with the amounts to see what works for your cat.
For treats, I give her either salmon or duck jerky and cooked or raw chicken breast. She, of course, gets catnip occasionally. Also upon occasion, she will get a TINY piece of whatever meat that I have leftover from dinner, usually steak, ham, ect... Avoid any cat treats with wheat, corn, or rice in them. The less a food is processed, the better it is for your cat!
