Is it possible to move a very large playhouse across country.?
I need to move a very large playhouse from IL to SC. It is as big as a shed. It highest point is 13 ft. It has real wood siding, real shingle roof, a porch with rails, real windows, sheet rock in the interior, attic space, and so on.
It cost about $5k to build and two years of time. Don't want to leave it behind.
What does the typical state highway permit cost? What are the rules of transport for such large objects?
Is this possible?
I am not sure that it would require a special permit.
See if you can find a set of axles from an old trailer house, build a frame that the house can sit on and use a big truck. Of course you will need to get the trailer inspected and licensed. But do this before loading the play house.
Depending on size and weight you may be able to find a premade trailer that will do the job.
If it is no wider then a truck and less then 17 ft on the trailer, then most likely the only problem will be making sure you go on routes that have no low under passes. Please check with your state on when an over-sized permit is required (the sizes are much the same for all states). There is a special truckers guide that lists these restricted areas.
There are companies that will move them for you, the rates that I have heard are in excess of 2.00 a mile.

Still delivering quality colors and images, this paper is lower in cost and has faster drying times.
HP High Gloss Photo Paper is a low cost high gloss photo paper that is great for appealing to audiences in visual presentations using graphic or colored displays. Universal Instant-Dry Photo Gloss Paper is another economical photo paper that also looks great in presentations using images; however this paper's porous medium makes the prints quick to dry, yet still glossy in appearance.
